Global crude steel production in July was 143.2 million tons, an increase of 6.3% year-on-year
According to statistics from the World Steel Association on 67 member economies, the world's crude steel production in July was 143.2 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%. In the first seven months, the world's crude steel production accumulated 977.3 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%.
China, the world's largest crude steel producer, produced 74.021 million tons of crude steel in July, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%. The cumulative production in the first seven months was 491.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%.
Among other Asian countries, Japan's crude steel production in July was 8.588 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.3%. India's production was 8.362 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.5%. South Korea's production was 6.159 million tons, an increase of 2.3%. Vietnam's production was 685000 tons, an increase of 54.8%. Pakistan's production was 325000 tons, an increase of 19.0%. Iran's production was 1.575 million tons, an increase of 16.5%.
The production of the 28 EU countries in July was 13.655 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%. Among them, Germany's production was 3.514 million tons, an increase of 3.6%. Italy's production was 2.12 million tons, an increase of 1.7%. France's production was 1.15 million tons, an increase of 1.7%. Spain's production reached 1 million tons, an increase of 8.1%.
Russia's production was 5.585 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.0%. Ukraine's production was 1.81 million tons, a decrease of 12.9%. Kazakhstan's production was 425000 tons, an increase of 11.8%.
Türkiye's output was 3.345 million tons, up 27.8% year on year.
The production in the United States in July was 7.071 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%. Mexico's production was 1.725 million tons, an increase of 1.9%. Canada's production was 1.1 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%.
Brazil's production was 2.832 million tons, an increase of 1.0%.
In July, the crude steel production capacity utilization rate of 67 member economies was 72.1%, a year-on-year increase of 3.2 percentage points and a month on month decrease of 1.5 percentage points.
